To: Andrew Boswell I had struggled with weight gain since my recent surgery for the tumor on my brain stem. It is not my first struggle with weight ... but I believe it is my last for this class has enlightened me as to the One who can control this. The class has saved me from falling victim to this eating disorder. I say this because my mother and sister were both overcome with overeating ... my sister succumbed during a bout of the flu ... with the hospital unable to clear her lungs. She weighed over 300 pounds. The class uses a 12-Step Program book that informs and directs one to God's Word and to Him for living. I have seen, with my understanding, what God has saved me from as we learned the insideous ways our eating patterns can be used of Satan. It has truly increased my compassion for what my sister experienced before her death. Class begins with a focus on God through worshipful music and a devotional appropriate to our needs. Mary Kay Tortoriello has a most thorough understanding of each disorder and delivers an excellent presentation of the material ... I am saying this as a teacher evaluation as well as a speech delivery evaluation! She is truly used of the Lord with her skills having been finely honed. I sit down in her class and the ninety minutes pass so it seems as if only five minutes are gone. I am joyous in seeing first hand what God has done in Mary Kay over the twenty-five years I have known her. God has matured her and is pleased to use her greatly for His purposes. Please know God is using this vital ongoing ministry to His children. Mary Kay even had a "babe in Christ" this spring in this group. We have been privileged to see what God has done in the girl and the changes He has wrought. I cannot say enough nor feel I can express my thoughts sufficiently, so if you care to
